Song Overview
New Dawn can simply be described as a song that inspired one man to turn his life around. In 2012 Mojo has been working with his group Morgan Heritage on their return album after 5 years away from the industry and his solo debut album simultaneously. Mojo has been promoting his groups 2012 September release of their EP "The Return" and his single "New Dawn" at the same time. At the pinnacle of all that, Mojo was coming out of a year and a half break up of a 18 year relationship and in October of 2012 he fell ill in the studio in Miami at Circle House Recording Studios and was hospitalized. Facing death from a viral infection and dealing with setbacks during his 2 weeks in the hospital, he was given a second chance to make everything right. That was the rebirth of his single New Dawn. Preparing for his groups return concert to their native Brooklyn, NY in December of 2012, Mojo received word that his father Denroy Morgan received probation and a $20 fine for the marijuana charges he was facing from the previous year. The group celebrated this news on stage at Barclay Center with their father when the group was honored by the city of NY with a Proclamation from the city for the great work. In 2013 after overcoming his personal trials, Mojo finds new focus and has much to celebrate with the first single "New Dawn" from his upcoming debut album.
