Song Overview
Big Lou was born in Camden, NJ. He was raised by a single mother, and grew up with 4 brothers and 3 sisters. At the age of 14, he developed a passion for music. This became an outlet that allowed him to write songs about the struggles of his life. But before his career would blossom, he became a product of the streets. As a teen, Lou got mixed up with the wrong crowd and was living life in the fast lane. Through it all his love for music grew more each day, and he determined to use his art as a way to build a better life for himself. Before he knew it he was spending more time recording than on the streets. After finishing his first mixtape, he focused on selling his music. Incredibly, Big Lou sold over 3,500 units in a city that is only 8 square miles. He quickly created a buzz that traveled for miles. As his success grew he decided to start his own independent label “Lost City Records.” As of today, Big Lou is taking the rap community by storm. In 2008, he won three underground awards, including “Artist of the Year” to go along with his 3 awards from the previous year. Big Lou is the only artist in the 15-year history of the UMA's to win 6 awards. His underground success earned him the respect and opportunity record tracks with some of the best artists in rap music today. With over 500,000 hits on YouTube, Big Lou is becoming one of the fastest rising young stars in Hip Hop.
