Always the "weird kid" who never quite fit in, 22-year-old Indiana native Lauren Sanderson knew early on that the "traditional path" of going to college and getting a 9-to-5 gig was just not an option for her. She’d have to create her own path. “I had no idea what I wanted to be at all, I just knew I wanted to inspire people,” says Lauren.
“I also knew to make that happen, I had to let go of my self pity, stop complaining and start making shit happen myself.” And that's exactly what she did.
Lauren graduated high school in 2014 and dove into motivational speaking with a Ted Talk in 2015. However, after only a month of giving talks at schools she realized this just wasn't her style. “At schools I felt like I couldn't be my full self. I couldn't dress how I wanted, I couldn't cuss, couldn't talk about coming out, having a girlfriend... I don't know, it just felt like I couldn't tell the real story."
